Breeding Lamb's Breath
At Lamb's Breath Seeds, the breeding season is in full swing! Our Irie Select stud is standing tall. He has the most beautiful male flowers that I have ever seen! Plus, he's extremely vigorous and has a potent, pungent stem rub odor. He has reddish stems, classic sativa form, is very bushy, and has loads of big flowers. I eliminated over 30 Lamb's Breath males and chose him. Below, you see him with his harem! He is pollinating 3 Legend, 1 Respect, 2 Santa's Stash and 6 Irie Select females.
Irie Select Big Boy!
In addition to letting him naturally pollinate the cast of ladies listed above, we're collecting his pollen for future breeding projects, and possibly for sale upon request.
Purple Pollen Sacs!
Say, that boy looks good in purple!
Growing Girl
Here is one of the Irie Select girls, growing sticky pistils to catch precious pollen.
Buzzing Buddies!
Cannabis is largely wind pollinated, rather than insect pollinated. But that doesn't mean that bumblebees and honeybees don't visit. They love to gather pollen, while ignoring the sweet smelling female flowers nearby. The bees trap the high protein pollen with barbed structures on their legs and carry it back to feed their broods. But they don't carry the pollen to cannabis females. They just fly on by!
Enjoy these pictures of bees visiting our Balance Boy in the Balance line breeding plot, located about 30 miles from the Irie Select seed plot. (Note the differences between the Irie Select male flowers above and Balance male flowers below!)
